Who Should Participate?

  • Companies with an Innovative Music Tech product that is ready to ship within 3-6 months of NAMM

  • Startups that have raised a pre-seed or seed round but not more than a B round 

  • Brands with the potential to deliver unique value to the NAMM community 

  • Companies building leading NAMM hardware, software and SaaS-based products 

  • Founders that embody core principles in NAMM’s Values 

  • Founders that are available to attend, pitch and demo in person at NAMM in Jan 2024 

  • Founders seeking feedback and engagement from industry leaders and experts

Eligibility: 

​

Applicant companies must:

​

  • Be in operation for a duration of fewer than 5 years.

  • Be able to present a functional product, service, or platform demo, or possess a fully developed product.

  • Be actively involved in some aspect of the music innovation landscape, including music creation, distribution, consumption, monetization, rights management, data analytics, fan engagement, live music event management, and beyond.

All applications must be received no later than December 15, 2023.

Pitch Format​

​

Accepted applicants will pitch live at NAMM 2024 to a panel of industry icons, experts and judges. The pitch will be timed at a MAXIMUM of 10 minutes per pitch.

The pitch should consist of the following:

  • Introduction: Start with a compelling hook or attention-grabbing statement. Introduce yourself and your team. Provide a brief overview of your company or project.

  • Problem Statement: Clearly articulate the problem or need that your product or service addresses. Use data or anecdotes to emphasize the significance of the problem.

  • Solution: Explain your product or service in detail. Highlight its unique features and benefits. Show how it directly solves the identified problem.

  • Market Opportunity: Describe the size and growth potential of your target market. Highlight any market trends or insights that support your business.

  • Business Model: Explain your revenue model and pricing strategy. Discuss your customer acquisition and monetization strategy.

  • Traction: Share any key milestones, achievements, or customer testimonials. Provide evidence of market validation, such as sales figures, user metrics, or partnerships.

  • Competitive Analysis: Identify your main competitors. Explain how your solution is superior or differentiates itself in the market.

  • Team: Introduce your team members and their relevant backgrounds. Highlight the skills and expertise that make your team well-suited for this venture.

  • Financial Projections: Present high-level financial projections, including revenue forecasts and growth plans. Discuss your funding needs and how you plan to use investment funds.

  • Ask: Clearly state what you are seeking from the pitch competition (e.g., funding, mentorship, exposure). Be specific about the amount or type of support you need.

  • Conclusion: Summarize the key points of your pitch. End with a strong closing statement that leaves a lasting impression.

  • Q&A: Be prepared to answer questions from the judges or the audience. 

  • Please note that the time allocated for each section may vary depending on the competition's rules.

  • Practice your pitch multiple times to ensure you can deliver it within the allotted time frame while maintaining clarity and enthusiasm.

  • Language: All submissions and presentations will be in English.

Judging Criteria â€‹

  • Innovation and Uniqueness: The degree of innovation and originality demonstrated in the business idea, product, or service.

  • Problem Solving: How well the pitch addresses a significant problem or need in the market. The clarity of the problem statement and its relevance.

  • Market Opportunity: The size and growth potential of the target market. Evidence of market research and understanding of customer needs.

  • Solution Quality: The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed solution. The uniqueness of the solution compared to existing alternatives.

  • Business Model and Monetization: The clarity and sustainability of the revenue model. The potential for profitability and scalability.

  • Traction and Validation: Evidence of progress, such as customer acquisition, sales, partnerships, or user engagement. Testimonials or validation from customers, partners, or users.

  • Team and Expertise: The qualifications, skills, and experience of the founding team. The team's ability to execute the business plan.

  • Financial Projections: The accuracy and credibility of financial projections. Realistic growth and revenue forecasts.

  • Presentation Quality: The clarity, professionalism, and engagement of the pitch presentation.Effective use of visuals (e.g., slides, demos, videos) if allowed.

  • Scalability and Impact: The potential for the business to scale and have a significant impact on the market or industry. 

  • Sustainability and Ethical Considerations: Environmental and ethical considerations, such as sustainability practices or social responsibility.

  • Overall Viability: An overall assessment of the viability and potential for success of the business idea or project.

  • Q&A Performance: The ability of the presenter(s) to respond to questions from judges effectively and confidently.

  • Investment Potential: The appeal of the pitch to potential investors or partners. Whether the pitch convinces judges that it's worthy of investment or support.

  • Adherence to Competition Rules: Compliance with the competition's rules, guidelines, and time limits.

Triple G Ventures reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest (or portion thereof). Triple G Ventures also reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify the entry of any individual. All federal, state and local taxes on prize and any expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Should a dispute arise regarding the identity of the claimant, Triple G Ventures reserves the sole right to determine the eligible party. BY ENTERING, ENTRANT WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO BRING (AND COVENANTS NOT TO BRING) ANY CLAIM AGAINST Triple G Ventures OR ANY OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS Contest. ENTRANTS FURTHER AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Triple G Ventures FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST, OR Triple G Ventures’ USE OF ANY ENTRY INFORMATION. Any disputes that may arise hereunder shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts without regard to the conflicts of laws principles of any jurisdiction. Venue with respect to any such disputes shall be had in the state and federal courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

Publicity and Release
As a condition of entry into the Contest, except where prohibited by law, each entrant and each winner by accepting a prize grants to Triple G Ventures all right, title and interest in, to publicize, broadcast, display and/or otherwise use, the Contest entrant’s name, their company name, logo, city, state, and biographical material (collectively, “Licensed Rights”) in any media for advertising and publicity purposes, without additional review, compensation, or approval of the winner. If Winner does not respond to notification, or is not present when prize delivery is attempted, such prize will be forfeited. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects.
